Swing Set Kits
Swing set kits include everything you will need in its construction from start to finish except the tools such as hammers, saws or screwdrivers and lumber. The kit includes blueprints and instructions for every step of the construction. The special brackets, bolts, swing hangers and clips are included as well as the solid framing.
Kits include a list of required tools, the measurements for the lumber and how to cut them. Some kits even include a video to aid in the construction.
Swing set kits can be purchased from every major lumber store and home hardware supply store. They range in price from less than one hundred dollars to over five hundred dollars depending on the design. Whatever kit is chosen, all the hardware and instructions are designed to keep the children safe while playing. Several designs are usually included in one kit and the builder can mix and match to create a unique swing set.
If you do not want a wooden swing set then you have the option of commercial grade metal swing set. These come in kits with everything supplied.
There are some extra requirements for constructing any swing sets. The ground on which it is placed must be flat and the set itself must be secured to the ground. The area under the swings must be prepared to allow a soft landing if the children should fall. Sand or grass works best because they do not cause the cuts and scrapes that asphalt does. Regular maintenance is also needed to ensure the child’s safety while having fun. No one wants to find their new swing set rapidly deteriorating after only one or two years. Check for splintered areas and areas showing signs of decay. Preventing accidents is a must for parents building swing sets for their children.
